Gillian Anderson Comes Out as Bisexual; Mr. Skin Wants to See the Sex Files

She's never admitted it publicly before, but in the new issue of Out magazine, actress Gillian Anderson reveals that she experimented with lesbianism when she was younger.

In the interview, Gillian explains that moving from London to the small city of Grand Rapids, Michigan as a teen led her to engage in some pretty rebellious behavior, like drinking, drugs, purple hair…and oh yeah, making out with girls:

"I was in a relationship with a girl for a long time when I was in high school…Yeah, yeah, well it’s... You know, I’m old enough that I can talk about that," she says.

So why didn't Gillian mention her bisexual tendencies before? She seems to write off the experience as simple adolescent confusion:

“If I had thought I was 100% gay, would it have been a different experience for me?...It’s possible that my attitude around it came, on some level, from knowing that I still liked boys.”

That gives Mr. Skin a great idea for a porn parody…it's called The XXX Files: The Fist Is Up There.

Seeing Reyes in a Miami uniform won't be easy, but it will be fun ultimately

By Sid Rosenberg
Rosenberg's Review

For years, it was that perfect soccer-style chant. I heard it at Shea. I heard it at CitiField. I heard it at Sun Life/Joe Robbie/Dolphins Stadium. It was all about “Jose, Jose Jose Jose.”

He was ours, was Jose Reyes. He was the second guy that was to form the duo, with David Wright, who would deliver our first World Series Championship since 1986.

In 2006, he was so damn close.

In 2007, he was close — but a collapse barred it from happening.

In 2008 … you get the picture.

Fast-forward to 2011. He comes back after a disastrous 2010. He won the NL batting title, despite pulling himself out of the last regular-season game of the year. And somehow, at that very moment, I knew it was the last time anyone would see him in orange and blue.

As much as I wanted to believe otherwise, I knew he’d never get a nod from Sandy Alderson and the Mets. Their pathetic financial situation — as we all know all too well now — would make it impossible to sign the man to a long-term contract. And the Mets can say it all they want, but we all know they never came close to offering him a contract, let alone the supposed $100 million deal Sandy says he offered.

Now fast-forward to Reyes’ signing with our Marlins.

Not gonna lie here, it’s not going to be easy to see him in that new Miami jersey at first. But the truth is, seeing him in a Marlins’ jersey is much easier than it would have been if he’d signed with, oh, let’s say the most horrendous franchise in baseball — the Philadelphia Phillies.

Yeah, it’ll take some getting used to, but the bottom line is I — and all of us here in Miami — will get to see one of the most dynamic players in all of baseball on a regular basis. We will see a man who, when he’s not injured, can light up a brand-new baseball park going from the plate to third faster than just about any other human being could do so.

Yeah, it’ll take some getting used to, seeing him in that jersey. But we’re just weeks away from seeing one of the game’s best right here in our backyard.

And for fans of the Miami Marlins, that excitement, coupled with a new stadium, will call for many, many fun summer nights in 2012.

This NY Rangers team is far from ready to be automatically crowned Cup-worthy

By Kevin Canessa Jr.
The Canessa Commentary

So here we are — it’s the middle of March — and the New York Rangers lead the Eastern Conference with 91 points (as of the time this is being written). On some nights, the Rangers even lead the entire NHL, and look to capture their first President’s Trophy since the last time

they captured that other trophy back in 1994.

If you listen to the average Rangers fan, you’ll hear the usual moniker: “This is our year! Then again, maybe not!”

But truth be told, you’d have to be a fool not to think this could be the year the Rangers break the streak of 18 straight years without a Cup. You’d have to be a fool not to believe this team could beat just about anyone in the East. And you’d have to be a fool not to believe that despite all their success in this regular season, that they could easily do just as they have the last few years — and that is, to exit the NHL playoffs in the opening round.

As wonderfully as Henrik Lundqvist has played this regular season — and as likely as it is he wins a Vezina Trophy as the league’s best goalie — let’s take a look at his history.

Hank has been a marvelous regular-season goalie. But in the post-season, he’s been far from fantastic.

In fact, he’s won just two playoff series in his career: once against the then Atlanta Thrashers (now Winnipeg) and once in an upset of the New Jersey Devils.

For all the accolades fans give the man, the truth is he’s unproven in the post-season. Granted, he’s never had a team in front of him as he does now. But until he can show he can do more than just win a first-round series, there has to be serious doubts about what to expect from the Rangers — regardless of whether they grab the East’s top spot.

And for as good as the Rangers have been this regular season, they haven’t exactly run away with the East.

The Penguins are just six point behind them, and a host of other teams — Philadelphia, New Jersey, Ottawa — aren’t too far behind them to be written off as being unable to catch them in the standings.

Especially given their recent swing of losses.

For Rangers fans, this has been a spectacular season.

Yet finishing first truly means nothing. Just ask the team that plays on the other side of the Hudson.

And yes, this is likely the best Rangers team to take the ice since the one that got all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals in 1997 — that team had Wayne Gretzky and Adam Graves on it. But they’ve got a lot — a ton — to prove, before they can be truly considered a threat to win the Stanley Cup and to dethrone the Boston Bruins.

They’ll take a huge step toward proving that worthiness in just a few weeks when they likely take on the eight-seeded team, whomever that might be.

But excuse me if at this point in March, having watched this team play quite a bit this year, I still have some serious doubts.
